ROS modular pipe installation for the recycling industry

Our client, a Spanish company dedicated to waste management, had to install a ventilation system in one of its recycling plants to renew the air in the compost area: an area without natural ventilation and with highly polluted air. This system had to collect the air from the receiving and the pretreatment areas and transport it to the compost area.

ROS Ducting’s solution

For this project, since the material to be transported was just air, it was considered appropriate to install ROS Ducting modular pipe in galvanized steel and with a standard thickness of 1.0 mm.

The installation has a total length of more than 1,000 meters, and essentially consists of "Multiform" pipes, with diameters ranging from 500 to 1,000 mm, R1D and R2D radius modular segmented bends, concentric reduction cones, and grilles especially designed for this project. The main assembly components used in this project were “Multiform” pull-rings, although in some sections hybrid pull-rings with joints were used to guarantee the tightness of certain areas of the installation where condensation was generated.

By using modular ducting, the installation was easier and faster to assemble, despite the large diameters; and thanks to the segmented bends, it could be fully adapted to the location. Likewise, future extensions or modifications of the layout will be much faster since the assembly components can be easily assembled and disassembled.
