ROS modular pipe installation for the extraction and filtration of sugar powder

Our client had to design and install a sugar powder extraction and filtration system for a major food company in Mexico.

ROS Ducting’s solution

For this project our client decided to use the benefits provided by the ROS Ducting modular ducting system. Since the material to be transported was sugar powder, it was considered appropriate to install stainless steel ducting in the section that transports consumer products and galvanized for rejection. All in standard thicknesses of 0.8mm and 1.0mm, respectively. This way, the installation is easy and quick to assemble, and its weight is lighter. In addition, as it is a modular pipe, and thanks to the segmented elbows, this system allows it to be 100% adapted to the final customer's location, optimizing the space available for pipe installation. Also, any future modifications or maintenance tasks are much faster with ROS modular ducting, since the unions can be easily assembled and disassembled.

The installation, which in total measures more than 60 meters long, is made up of “Multiform” pipes, insertable pipes, R2D radius modular segmented bends and manual throttle valves. In this case, R2D radius bends were used, suitable for large particles and granular products, such as flour, rice or pasta. As per customer’s request, we used flanges to assemble the pipes bigger than Ø550, and “Multiform” pull-rings for smaller diameters. In addition, to guarantee the conductivity of the installation, grounded wiring was installed.
