In peanut processing, the efficient removal of waste such as sand, stones, small branches and dust is crucial to ensure the quality of the final product. An Argentine company specialising in peanut processing and bagging sought to optimise its production line with a modular solution that could adapt to the various stages of the process. ROS provided a modular ducting system divided into two stages: a reinforced stage for the initial phases and a lighter one for the final stages.
In the early stages, where abrasive materials like sand and stones are handled, reinforced piping made from 3 mm powder coated carbon steel was used, with welded flanges for extra strength. The diameters ranged from 200 mm to 1,200 mm, ensuring optimal flow. Insertable pipes, cleaning pipes, clamping rings with sealing mass, and grounding wiring were installed, meeting the highest safety and performance standards.
In the final stages, where primarily dust is aspirated, lightweight piping made from 1.2 mm thick galvanised steel was chosen. This material was selected due to the nature of the residue, which does not return to the processing circuit. The diameters varied between 140 mm and 1,200 mm, including components such as insertable pipes, some large-diameter cleaning pipes (ø1,200 mm), segmented R2D bends, and conductive sealing rings. Grounding wiring was also added at the customer’s request.
The use of ROS modular ducting offered multiple benefits. The ease and speed of installation significantly reduced labour costs, as fewer personnel were required to complete the assembly. The modularity allowed the installation to be adapted to the available space, maximising design efficiency. Additionally, the ability to easily dismantle the ducts facilitates both preventive maintenance and any future modifications or relocation of the installation. The laser welding used in manufacturing ensures total tightness, zero risk of oxidation, and exceptional durability.
Thanks to the implementation of ROS modular ducting, the end customer successfully optimised his processing line, improving the quality of the final product, the environmental conditions of the production area, and reducing operation times. This solution proved to be a strategic investment for the sustainable growth of his business.
