Range of diameters:

- ROS: 31 diameters in galvanised and stainless steel 304.

- Spiral: less range, 22 diameters.

Standard thickness:

- ROS: 0.6 mm - 1.0 mm

- Spiral: 0.5 mm

Inner surface:

- ROS: smooth, laser welded from ø80 to ø1000 mm.

- Spiral: rough due to the helix shape all around the perimeter.

Maximum negative pressure:

- ROS: -0.07 bar

- Spiral: -0.02 bar

Finish:

- ROS: with 90º lips and reinforcement beads on all parts, which confers high rigidity at both positive and negative pressure.

- Spiral: without lips nor reinforcement beads.

Assembly and disassembly:

- ROS: easy, quick and economical assembly and disassembly. Mechanical connection with pull-rings (clamps).

- Spiral: slow and costly to assemble; cannot be disassembled. Male-female union with rivets.

Flexibility:

- ROS: as it is a modular system, the layout of the installation can be varied both at the design stage and on site.

- Spiral: it is not possible to vary the layout once it has been manufactured.

Airtightness:

- ROS: totally airtight joints thanks to the Hybrid Pull-ring (sealing ring in EPDM, Silicone, NBR and Viton).

- Spiral: very weak or impossible airtightness due to riveting.

Pipe length:

- ROS: 1 metre, easy to transport, pack and assemble.

- Spiral: 3-5 metres, difficult to transport, pack and assemble.

Bends:

- ROS: bends formed by 15° segments, which allows a great diversity of positions and bends.

- Spiral: fixed elbows, limited bending, and radii.

Radii:

- ROS: R1D, R1.5D, R2D, R3D; it is possible to reduce the head loss by increasing the radius.

- Spiral: R1D; high head loss.

Zinc galvanised:

- ROS: guaranteed galvanisation with Zinc quality between 275-200gr/m2, ensuring high resistance to oxidation and corrosion.

- Spiral: galvanised with Zinc quality between 100-140gr/m2, which gives less resistance to oxidation and corrosion.

Aesthetics:

- ROS: aesthetic finish, quality is perceived.

- Spiral: non-aesthetic finish

Possibility of manufacturing special pieces:

- ROS: Yes

- Spiral: No
