In industrial ventilation duct installations, the use of bends is essential when the direction of the ductwork changes. Since the introduction of the modular system patented by ROS in the 1970s, and with the advent of segmented bends, the possibilities for designing duct networks have expanded significantly compared to traditional one-piece pressed bends. Below, we analyse the advantages of ROS segmented bends over pressed bends:
Wide range of standard diameters:
ROS segmented bends are available in a range of 31 diameters, from ø80 to ø1000mm. Additionally, they can be manufactured in diameters up to ø1500mm.
Adjustable and versatile radii:
They are produced in four standard curvature radii (R1D, R1.5D, R2D, R3D), all available in stock. Upon request, larger or smaller radii can be manufactured to suit the requirements of the installation.
Flexibility in angles:
ROS segmented bends are formed by combining 15° segments, primarily creating bends with exact angles of 15°, 30°, 45°, and 90°. The more segments that are joined, the greater the resulting bend angle. It is also possible to mix segments of different radii within the same bend, offering infinite design possibilities.
Modularity and adaptability:
Before securing the segments that make up the bend with clamps, they can be adjusted to multiple inclinations and directions. This reduces the need for extremely detailed plans, facilitating material estimation.
Quick and cost-effective assembly:
The assembly and disassembly of ROS segmented bends with pull-rings is straightforward, reducing on-site costs. The bends can be delivered disassembled in 15° segments, optimising their volume for transport, or pre-assembled to the desired angles to facilitate on-site installation.
Absolute airtightness:
With the use of rubber sealing rings between the segments, ROS segmented bends are perfectly airtight against the passage of powdered products, fumes, vapours, oil mists, etc. The sealing rings are available in EPDM, Silicone, and NBR.
Quality and materials:
ROS bends offer a perfectly smooth interior surface thanks to longitudinal laser welding, suitable for all installations. They are available in galvanised steel and stainless steel, with the possibility of combining both materials according to project requirements.
In summary, ROS segmented bends stand out for their versatility, ease of assembly, and adaptability to any installation, far surpassing the limitations of traditional one-piece pressed bends.
